Long Live The Croon

It started with 3 guys sharing their favourite songs of the year. That tradition continues today with more friends joining in on the fun. I’m thrilled to be able to share with you their “BEST OF 2011” playlists. I’m dedicating the next few posts to their lists, so stay tuned and feel free to share them with your friends.

To kick things off is my friend Jared. He’s zany, incandescent and untamed. Jared is also a gifted artist that oozes creativity and Vick’s honey drops of joy. You can check out his incredible website to get a glimpse of what I’m talking about.

So, without further ado, heeeeeeeeeeerrres Jared!

Band: Jack’s Mannequin
Song: Television
I need white noise to sleep. i even have a white noise app on my iphone that i need to play every night so i can sleep. Its my solution to calm my constantly moving brain in hopes to get some shut eye. This song relates as it talks about needing the sound of the TV on to be able to sleep. When the depth of your day can’t stop turning in your head, this is how many people wind down.
I can relate to the lyrics, and JM is just plain catchy, soothing, and enjoyable.

Band: Incubus                                                                                                                  Song: Switchblade                                                                                                                 I heard that incubus was thinking of calling it quits as they were finding it hard to compete with the barrage of new bands coming out. So, i gotta support them with this track on my mix, and its just a solid sounding song about boys and girls. Ha.
