Before Sunrise

Let me tantalize you with 2 quotes from this film so you get an idea of how rich, captivating and wholesome this film is:

“I believe if there’s any kind of God it wouldn’t be in any of us, not you or me but just this little space in between. If there’s any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. I know, it’s almost impossible to succeed but who cares really? The answer must be in the attempt.”

“Sometimes I dream about being a good father and a good husband. And sometimes it feels really close. But then other times it seems silly like it would ruin my whole life. And it’s not just a fear of commitment or that I’m incapable of caring or loving because… I can. It’s just that, if I’m totally honest with myself I think I’d rather die knowing that I was really good at something. That I had excelled in some way than that I’d just been in a nice, caring relationship.”

If you are: single, in a relationship, dating, in the middle of “romantic” troubles, are planning on traveling through Europe, are a romantic YOU MUST watch this film. This is not your conventional “rom-com” that hollywood churns like cheap butter. Instead, through the conversation and interactions between Jesse and Celine you discover with greater clarity why we want to be “loved more”.

The way I can compare this movie to is to how you talk on the phone with a new love interest way into the night for the first time.  As you talk and reveal more of yourself you find yourself feeling something you hadn’t felt before and yet strangely you aren’t scared because  you know the person on the other end of the line is feeling the exact same thing.
