Hereafter

I really want to say good things about this film because it has Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon at the helm. Unfortunately, it fails to be anything other than just a trite story with one really cool scene interspersed with some mediocre lines. What could have been interesting only manages to be tolerable. It’s not boring but it’s not interesting either. ┬áIt felt like a forced production that starts well but loses steam. There is even a scene so blatant with emotional manipulation that I remember thinking, “I should be crying right now”. Watching this with a friend was definitely a plus because we got to discuss how horribly satisfying the ending was. I hate it when all the thinking is done for you.
