Due Date

I realize that pairing Galifianakis with Downey Jr. seemed like a good idea. So good that you don’t really need to write a coherent and interesting story. Instead, you just sort of create absurd scenarios and let the camera roll. This may work in some films but I’m not really sure this one pulled it off. It felt like a glossed over version of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” with a lot less awkward funny and more painful “when is this over?” sentiment. It has flourishes of hilarity but not enough to make me want to wait. So check yourself before you wreck yourself.
